Fake Patches
One of the hardest thing for a new collector to identify is a fake patch. Recently (Winter 2011), there has been a resurgance of these fakes on eBay from China. Of course, the seller(s) have been reproducing old rarities and getting a pretty good chunk of change off off them. As long as the innocent people continue to buy these patches, there will be those manufacturers who will be more than happy to sell them. Please see an example of the recent fakes below and review "A Guide to Identifing Recent Chinese Fakes on eBay" written by Jason Spangler.
To help in the "fight", I've posted the pictures below. Each section shows the REAL patch on the left, with the recent Chinese fake on the right. Below each patch is a guide to distinguishing the two patches. I hope it helps!!!!
The culprits issuing these fakes are 2011tophunter, and discountbar. Click on thier names to see what they currently have for sale...and be careful!!!
